Pictures later…
Yesterday I had to take Bill to work. The Explorer has decided to throw fits. It’s old. It has a lot of miles on it. I guess it’s allowed.
Mary and I had plans to go to the mall and run a few errands, so I had to take Bill to work. I haven’t had to do that since we got PT and it’s been really nice.
We went to the mall to Mary’s favorite store; Macy’s. Yeah. It’s expensive, but they have really good sales and Mary is not above pawing through the clearance racks to find a gem or two. She found a pair of jeans there that she’s been living in and wanted to get another pair, but the clearance racks were calling to her and she went in search of a top or two. She found them, too! Two really cute tops that were on sale. And the jeans were still on sale, so we went ahead and got another pair of those, too.
At the register the two tops came up less than the tag price by five bucks, so that was even better!
We walked through the mall and stopped at Old Navy, too. She had some money left on her gift card and found a top there that would go with the things she bought at Macy’s.
She was a happy girl!
The only thing that would have made the shopping trip better for her was a new pair of shoes, but we weren’t going there.
We were going to stop at Best Buy to browse, then Target and a stop at the library, but by the time we made it back over to our side of town there wasn’t enough time for that and had to head over to pick Bill up. We made all the lights, but got stopped behind a couple of school busses that set us behind schedule. Target would have to wait.
On the way home we stopped at Kroger to get a couple of things so we could actually have dinner. I don’t think there is anything in the cupboard to make a complete meal. Grocery shopping needs to be done. Not only done, but done with some thought so we don’t have to run out to get what is missing.
I hate grocery shopping.
We made it through Kroger unscathed, which can be a feat on a Friday afternoon, and as we exited I looked to my right and LOOK!
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile on a Mini Cooper!!!
How awesome is that????
Well, Bill and I thought so! Mary would not get in a picture, but at least she took one for us.
Bill talked to the guy there about the ones we’ve seen over the years. But the best thing for Bill, I think, was when the guy gave him his very own wiener whistle.
Isn’t he cute? Sometimes the second childhood is loads of fun!
(Of course, Mary was slouched down in the back seat hoping no one noticed her)
