I went outside a little bit ago and spotted something hanging precariously in the tree.
Way up in the tree!
I couldn’t tell if the kitty was alive or not! I watched him for a few minutes and he never moved. The tree is actually in my neighbors back yard, but it’s not fenced in, so I went around to take a look.
The poor little guy was just perched up there, staring at the other neighbor’s yard where a dog lives…
Mary followed me out and I sent her back to get some turkey to try and entice the little guy down.
He’d meow at me and look down for a minute, but wouldn’t move a bit! When I held the turkey up you could see his little nose start working, but he didn’t have a clue as to how to get down.
Finally, I wiggled the tree and he let go of his hold there on the branch with his front feet, then clumsily slipped a little to the next bunch of tiny branches. He managed to get all the way down, but was clearly upset that we had to catch him in this quite embarrassing moment. As soon as his feet hit the ground, he was off like a shot. Hopefully he remembers where he lives!
And he didn’t even stop for the turkey.

OH MY! Well, I'm so glad you helped him down! I remember, when I was little, my cat Pepper got herself way up in our big oak tree. Then, she couldn't get down. Luckily, our neighbor worked for SCE&G and brought his bucket truck over and got her down for us. She never did THAT again! :-)
