Christmas, of course, came and went in the usual manner.
Wait, wait, wait.
Poof!
Gone.
We had a good day, though.
Mary was up surprisingly early. She was bouncing off the walls the night before, doing her best to convince Bill and I to open presents on Christmas Eve.
Nope.
Sorry, kid.
We did let her open one and she chose the package that our friend, Tootsie, had brought over a few days prior for her.
And this is what she found in it!
I had mentioned to Tootsie that she had gone nuts over these hats and Tootsie looked all over town for one for her! The pom-poms are so cute! The dogs thought they were toys for them, though. And of course, Mary had to try the hat on the dogs, too.
We had a pretty good pile of paper around the tree once all was unwrapped.
Here are some highlights!
Bill got a leaf blower.
He will be happy to leave those rakes hanging in the garage now.
A Ninja for me! We’re going to make some smoothies today!
Chex Mix in the mail from Grandma Pat, Sherri and Katie! Yum! We had to share a bit with the pups, too.
Annabell really liked it!
Mary contemplating the ‘big’ box…
Finally! A keyboard! Something to practice on! Piano lessons to come!
I think she likes it.
After all the paper was cleaned up, we got cleaned up and headed to the movies. Pat and Tootsie were coming along with us to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. We headed to Pooler, drove up to the theatre and NO ONE WAS THERE! Doors locked. Really quiet. What?
Apparently, when the movie times were checked online, the hours weren’t checked to see if they were open on Christmas.
This was the first year we were going to go to Pooler and didn’t realize they wouldn’t be open.
Mary checked the theatres by the mall and the movie WAS playing there, but we wouldn’t have gotten there in time all the way from Pooler. We decided instead to go back to Tootsie’s and watch one of the movies Mary got for Christmas; Cowboy’s and Aliens. Bill and Mary had seen it in the theatre, but Pat, Tootsie and I hadn’t seen it yet.
We brought the dogs over to play with Davey while we watched the show. They had a blast! Davey got an automatic laser toy for Christmas! Yeah. It’s really neat, though. It sits on the floor and spins around, shining the laser light all over the floor for the dog to chase. Annabell went NUTS with this thing! Pat put it over in the dining room so they would play in there. We finally had to turn it off because Annabell got so tired running around it and wouldn’t stop! Silly dog. It’s pretty funny though. Tootsie turned the thing off and picked it up off the floor and Annabell just stood there and stared at it waiting for the light to go on again!
It looks kind of like this one, but I don’t think this is the actual one they have.
Bill put the turkey in really early in the morning, so it was done before we even went on our failed movie outing. After the movie at Tootsie’s we came home, cleaned up some and got the rest of dinner ready and Pat and Tootsie came over and we shared dinner with them. We had a good time! We even figured out how to set the timer on my camera to take this picture! Thanks, Pat!
After dinner we visited for a while and Annabell cleaned Pat’s ears for him…
See Pat smiling? Yup. All clean now.
Good job, Annabell!
