Hangin’ out in Charleston…

I’m staying at a friend’s house for a bit, hanging out while she recovers from surgery. She’s doing real well and it’s been nice chatting like we used to so often.

We both lived in Florida when we met and with jobs and circumstance we both ended up moving to different states for a while. Now we’re only about a hundred miles apart, so we can visit more often!

We had every intention of scrapbooking while I was here, but I really don’t think she was up to it, but we’ve had crochet hooks in hand quite a bit and the yarn has been flying!

I found a really neat pattern for a baby sweater that is pretty much made in one piece. It’s a basic sweater, not many frills, made out of 4-ply yarn which makes it quick and easy and nice and warm for the cooler temps coming along.

I don’t have any new babies around personally, but I love to make baby clothes. I thought I’d put them up on Etsy or Ebay.

I have three or four of them at home finished up and here are the two I’ve made so far since being here.

This is the basic sweater. It ties in the front, no buttons. I added the slip stitch around the edge on a whim. It really can be ‘fancied’ up any way you want, but I like the simple style. Quick to make and doesn’t require too much yarn.

This variation is pretty obvious; a hood and some ruffles. The sweater is still the basic pattern. This one was fun to make! I want to make some suitable for a boy, too. No ruffles on those!

I have some hat patterns that I could use to make a set, along with some cute little booties that would make the perfect ensemble! lol

The other thing I’ve been playing with is this…

This is Angel. She’s a little gray around the face now, but she’s such a sweet dog! We hadn’t seen her in quite a while but she sure remembered us!

Those are awesome sweaters D!!! You should TOTALLY open an Etsy shop! You'd rock that for sure. I want to know when the grand opening is :-)

I'm glad you had a good time at your friend's house, and that she is feeling better. And I love the Halloween blog decor!

Miss you bunches!
